Day Two!!
Excuse the fact that I'm obviously obsessed with maxi skirts and cropped tops for festival season this year... but honestly the combination of the two is just perfect! The reason I absolutely love this maxi skirt is of course because of the leg showing splits (that I cut to make higher... shhhh). As I stated yesterday... festivals are all about the showing of the skin... "less is best," "less is more," however you look at it... always say YES TO LESS! This skirt is also a modal material so I shouldn't even have to explain how soft that makes it against the skin. It blows freely showing off all the legs in the world!
This top is a cute little number I scooped on Canal Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans from a place called Hippie Gypsy. The people who work there have wonderfully pleasant spirits and helped me find this beauty for the BUKU music festival not too long ago. I have been looking for a crochet top that I could absolutely fall in love with and well... this was the one! (be careful though... the girls tend to slip a lot if you're jumping... but you shouldn't be too bothered by a slight nip slip ;) ha!)
Now THESE shoe cult shoes right here are for stomping in the ground!! Nobody can step on your feet, who cares if drinks spill on you, you can literally dance, jump, hop and skip around in these bad boys with no care in the world. I thought they would be uncomfortable but these boots are my new faves. Helped me survive all the craziness of BUKU, so they're perfect for any festival really!
SUPER SORRY I DIDN'T DO A STEP BY STEP DIY :'(
But there's tonsssssssssssss on Youtube so you will be fine! I honestly just went to the dollar store and brought these fake, stemmed flowers and just broke the buds off. I then hauled it over to the beauty supply store for some hair ribbon. I crazy glued the flowers on to hold them in place and then hand stitched them down with some white thread (you can't trust glue alone to hold as you sweat, jump and dance around... trust me!) I then glued on the leaves from the stems and the cute little white flowers that came attached to one bundle and violĂ ! I prefer ribbon because I can adjust the tightness depending on if my hair is wavy or straightened. (and it doesn't squeeze the heck out of my head like those stretchy bands!)
Stay tuned for tomorrow's festival inspiration!
